Sheikh Araby – A jazz standard composed in 1921 by Harry B. Smith, Francis Wheeler and music by Ted Snyder. The slide guitar renders the melody the first time through in a waltz feel before transitioning to a Samai Thaqil 10/8 feel, at which point, sections of Samai Ajam Ashiran by Udi Ibrahim Effendi (1872 – 1933) are interspersed with a stretched-out rendition of the melody on the oud.
Arranged by Rami Gabriel.
